Install MySQL Server on CentOS 7

The CentOS7 and MySQL Server are widely used to develop and deploy many Web applications. Install MySQL Server on CentOS 7 is very straightforward , The MySQL is safe option for small to large Web application. Latest version of CentOS 7 come preinstalled with MySQL derivative MariaDB. As of now yum package manager don’t installed MySQL from remote repository.

To Install MySQL server on CentOS you have to do follow steps

Download MySQL Yum Repository

  • Download MySQL Yum repository from MySQL Developer Zone, Download Yum Repository
  • Select and download the Yum package for CentOS7 version , I have fresh CentOS 7 installed, so I have downloaded Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 / Oracle Linux 7 (Architecture Independent), RPM Package

[centos@ip-172-31-23-253 ~]$ wget http://dev.mysql.com/get/mysql-community-release-el7-5.noarch.rpm

Install Yum Repository to Local System Repositroy

Check If MySQL Repository into System’s Repository List

Install MySQL Server on CentOS 7

Start MySQL Service

Connect with MySQL
